From what I remember it took about 4 years to fabricate, machine, assemble and test each instrument. Then it came time to disassemble, metal prep and final paint all the components before packaging. L&F hired a packaging company to work with our shipping manager Bill Carroll to prepare all of the special crates in a manner that reduced any possibility of moisture entering and rusting parts. It was a monumental task but all wend well.
